"The 9 Ways To Be" by Gordon B. Hinckley

1. Be Grateful: This quote means that if you are grateful for the little things you have, you will have more coming your way. It all happens if you just stay positive and make the best out of the bad things.

2. Be Smart: This means that you have to be smart on how you do things. As in you should always think wisely before you make a decision. In other words you should have the right common sense to be.

3. Be Involved in Good Works: This other way of being is by doing good things. Not only for you and for others, but for your community and environment. By doing this, you will not only pass on a good message about yourself, but others will want to do the same. To this, the community will soon be on the same page and do good.

4. Be Clean: This means that you have to be organized. Not only organized, but responsible with your daily responsibilities. But you should also be clean, because no one would want to hire you if you aren't physically clean. Another way of being clean is having clean positive thoughts.

5. Be True: To be true is to stay loyal. You must always say and be truthful with yourself and to others. In other words you have to stay loyal to what you are committed to and who you want to be. If you aren't true people won't trust you.

6. Be Positive: Being positive is a big part of being a good person. For example, you have to show enthusiasm and show others and yourself how happy you are. Happiness and kindness makes everyone's day better, and it makes your day the greatest.

7. Be Humble: To be open to others. Also to be a friendly and kind person. Another word for this is being positive. So it technically means the same thing.
8. Be Still: This means to be put in one place. As in focus on accomplishing one thing, then if you do, find something else to focus on. But you should always have something to stay still on.
9. Be Prayerful
Final Reflection: These 9 ways to have in your life can change you and the way you cooperate with things. It will help to be positive and hard working with yourself and others.
" There they are, nine B's which, if observed, will bring handsome dividends to any young man or woman. They will add sparkle to your days and peace to your life and give directions to your energies.
They will bring your friends of your own kind. They will protect you from associations that would pull you down and deflect you from your own course.
This is a time to be happy. This is a time to feel joy and make friends and enjoy the best this life offers. What I have tried to put forth..... are simply a few suggestions, gained from many years of living to help you do just that. The world will tell that certain kinds of things will bring you happiness-things such as possessions and satisfying your baser desires.
If today you find yourself only drifting as a leaf in a stream, get a hold of yourself and determine you will do better.
At railroad grade crossings, signs of warning were once common. Two cross arms were emblazoned with the words,"Stop, Look, Listen." They meant that a train could be running down the tracks and you had better be alert.
I was ridding a train in the Midwest years ago. I looked out the window to my left. A road run parallel to the tracks. A car with a boy and a girl was speeding down the road a little faster than the train. The car moved ahead until I could no longer see it. Suddenly, the localmotive whistle sounded and the train screeched to a halt as the brakes ripped the wheels. We looked out the window on to the other side. There was a mungled car. Police cars soon converged, folloed by the ambulance. The boy and girl were both dead. The road they were traveling crossed the tracks. They did not stop, look, or listen. It all happened in an instant.
The better way to Be is the way of these nine Be's.
The years will investably pass, and pass quickly. Today is your day of resolution. Promise yourself to make something good of your precious life." ~ Gordon B Hinckley
